Monday: Veteran's Day Holiday

Credit and review homework on demonstrative adjective.  Speaking practice with demonstratives (books, bottles, computers, rackets, helmet, gloves, bats) Homework grammar c.

Vocabulary Quiz on Thursday, Speaking Quiz with preterite regular verbs on Friday. Comprehension questions/vocabulary from " Expulsados" due Wednesday.  Final draft of Yosemite Story due on Friday.

Monday:  Warm-up at https://beta.conjuguemos.com/verb/138 .  Conversation practice with ar/er/ir preterite textbook page 96:6 and 67:7, textbook 96-97:5, 7, and 8. Begin reading "Expulsados" and answering comprehension questions and completing the vocabulary. (Due Wednesday - Handwritten)  Homework: Non native pages 54-55 in workbook.

Tuesday: Review homework with non-native speakers/review vocabulary for vocabulary quiz Thursday. Workbook pages 61-63.  Comprehension Questions/Vocabulary for "Expulsados" due on Wednesday.  (See Attachment below.) Begin re-write of Yosemite story. Be sure to include introductory sentence (s), conclusion, and paragraphing.  Focus on sensory detail, thoughts, feelings.  Draft 2 needs to be ready at class-time on Thursday for Peer Edit. You will turn in original draft with new draft. (worth 10 homework pts)

Wednesday: Vocabulary quiz tomorrow.  Native speakers to use self chosen words/non native vocabulary from ch. 2.1. (page 90-91)  Finish ch. 1 (Expulsadas) vocabulary and comprehension questions.  Then, begin re-write of Yosemite Story for tomorrow, for Peer Edit and worth 10 homework pts.  Non-native to work on Speaking quiz prep, then reading comprehension pages 64-66.

Thursday: Vocabulary Quiz today (sports and fitness/self chosen sports words), With conversation partners, practice preterite tense. Then, complete URB worksheet pages 8-9.  Workbook homework page 56.

Monday: 15 words from attached pdf for vocabulary.  Also, create poster with 8 entitled "Deportes y Salud".  NOn native to begin learning new vocabulary, chapter 2.1.  Complete URB worsheet. Native Speakers homework 52-53.  Non-native homework pages 50-51.

Tuesday: Review worksheet pages 2-3. Play pictionary with new vocabulary.  Non-native to complete pages 92-94: 1,2,3.  Native Speakers to do poster and reading pages 63-64.  HOmework vocabulary c.  Also, teach adjectives to adverbs formation. See https://www.spanishdict.com/guide/spanish-adverbs.

Wednesday: Review homework, vocabulary c. Teach er/ir preterite.  URB worksheet. Non-native to finish and review 3 exercises assigned yesterday. 

Thursday: Practice with adverbs. This week, re-write Yosemite stories, and ch. 1 exam.  Speaking quiz with preterite "ar" and irregular preterite for Thursday.

Monday: Review homework pages 27-29 and URB worksheet on irregular preterite. Speaking practice in preterite tense with "ar" verbs.(Textbook page 67:7)  Then begin re-write of Yosemite story.  See attached document below for example of greater detail. See http://www.sinónimo.es/dificil.html&search=1 New drafts due for Wednesday to peer edit.  Non-native to work on text book practice exercises with peterite.  Homework Native Speakers 30-32, non-native 29-31.

Tuesday: Bell ringer at https://studyspanish.com/verbs/random-quiz/justar (20 questions)  Speaking practice with "ar" verbs in past tense with partners  (page 67:7) Then review homework and credit. Native Speakers to write a new draft of Yosemite story, focusing on one event, for Wednesday. (See example below and keep in mind transition words from yesterday, and  http://www.sinónimo.es/dificil.html&search=1 .  Non-native to make corrections on first draft and respond to suggestions. Second draft due tomorrow for Peer edit.  Also, Non-native to work on text book practice exercises with preterite, pages 63:3, 65:5, 6.   Homework  grammar 2b.

Thursday: Quiz tomorrow and "ar" verbs in the preterite. Peer Edit of Composition (300-400 words). Final draft turn in tomorrow, paper copy.  Practice speaking dialogues, textbook page 67:7.

Friday: 1. "AR" verbs preterite tense quiz, 2. Peer edit of Yosemite Composition/make corrections, 3. Print hard copy and turn in "Yosemite" story. 4. Native Speakers to do chapter 1 review. Textbook ch. 1.1 (pages 56-57:1-4 audio attached below) and 1.2 review (pages 80-81:1-4 audio attached below).  4. Non-native to do textbook practice exercises  #4, #5, #6, #12, #13.

Wednesday: PsAT  For any students who finish early, go to rm. 5 with Ms. Taylor.  Workbook pages 27-28(non-native) or 28-29 (native speakers).  Also, work with a partner on speaking dialogues with conversation cards (past tense practice).  See also https://beta.conjuguemos.com/verb/138 for drills on preterite tense verbs.

Thursday: Kahoot with "ar" preterite, Speak practice with preterite tense.  DuoLingo/Re-write Yosemite story - 1 event in far greater detail. See Jean Giono "El HOmbre Que Plantaba Arboles" as example of natural history writing.

(See attachment below - create questions with me, te, le, nos, les) Native Speakers to read textbook pages 76-77 and answer questions in "Para y Piensa" box.  Homework vocabulary pages 24-25-26.

Wednesday: Self chosen Vocabulary Quiz/credite 3 pages of vocabulary in workbook, practice dialogues/questions created yesterday with attachment below. Play BINGO with new vocabulary.  Textbook vocabulary work/finish reading from yesterday.

Thursday: speaking quiz, Yosemite narrative focusing on one event. review homework, teach "ar" preterite.  Remember that final drafts of Yosemite Story are due tomorrow. Homework URB pages 45-46 on preterite "ar" verbs.

Friday: Quiz on IOP, review homework, silent reading/speaking practice with IOP and preterite tense.

400 word composition due Friday for native Speakers.  Quiz Thursday on 15 self-chosen vocabulary words from Yosemite List for all students. Speaking quiz Friday on use of Indirect object pronoun.

Monday: Vocabulary quiz on Thursday 15 self chosen words from camping trip vocabulary.  Bell ringer/practice IOP at https://beta.conjuguemos.com/grammar/homework/206.  Then introduce writing assignment to Native Speakers: 350- 400 words write about the camping trip. Use present tense to write about a normal day camping in Yosemite. Non-native to work on IOP in textbook, page 46-47: 12, 13, 14, and 15.

Tuesday: Bell ringer at https://personal.colby.edu/~bknelson/SLC/IO.html .  Check first 150 words on "Yosemite" composition. 300 words due for tomorrow.  Review exercises 12-15 with Non-native speakers.  Speaking pairs with question using verbs at https://www.spanishdict.com/guide/indirect-object-pronouns (using ?A Quien and ? and Quien?) .  Non-native to write 200 words, present tense, about Yosemite Trip.   All students need 15 vocabulary words for Friday quiz.

Wednesday: kahoot with IOP. Speaking practice with IOP from exercize 13 on page 47. Check for 15 vocabulary words, self chosen, from Yosemite Trip.   review "ar" "er" and "ir" present tense verbs.    Continue working on dialogues for Friday quiz, and compositions. Peer Edits tomorrow. For tomorrow, draft of 400 words due, or 200 for non-native speakers.

Thursday: Practice exercise 13 using IOP.  Study in pairs self-chosen vocablary words. Vocabulary Quiz next Tuesday/speaking quiz tomorrow. (Use each word in a sentence demonstrating understanding of the word.) Peer Edits with at least one other classmate. See http://www.sinónimo.es/ to improve word choices. Improve the draft by adding details and selecting more exact/descriptive vocabulary.  HOmework grammar 2, chapter 1.1 pages 8-9 or for NON-NATIVE SPEAKERS PAGES 7-8)
