Mrs. Laurie Mollenkopf

Hello! Welcome to my page. My name is Laurie Mollenkopf.

I teach Jr. High and High School Band. My goal as an educator is to foster a love for music and for making music with your students that will stay with them for their lifetime. I am an educator because I feel that I have been called by my creator to change lives through music--not only through the work of teaching, but also through my example as a respectful, loving, and caring human being. When I can be anything at all, I choose to be kind.

I am a graduate of La Vernia High School where I was the valedictorian of my class in 1989. I have a Bachelor's Degree from Texas Tech Univeristy with All-level Teacher Certification in Music. I also hold a Generalist Certification for grades 4-8.

I am married to my high school sweetheart. He has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech, and a Master's degree in Engineering Management from Southern Methodist University. He works in Civil Service. We have 3 biological children--twins (a daughter and a son) born in 1996, a daughter born in 2005, and 1 adopted son born in 1985. We also have a granddaughter born in 2011 and a grandson born in 2018.

We stay busy as a family, and I am a super proud momma. I am always ready and willing to brag on my precious family. I would say my favorite "hobby" is just being around the people that I love, and spending quality time with them. I love to laugh and "cut up," and I generally have a running commentary on any given subject (meaning, I LOVE to talk).

If I can help you or your student(s) with anything, please don't hesitate to contact me, and I will get back with you as soon as I am able. My schedule is listed below. My email address is, and that is the easiest and usually the quickest way to get a hold of me. My office phone number is 830-779-6630 X3295. I look forward to serving and working with you and your children.
