COURSE OVERVIEW: The Advanced Placement United States History curriculum is the equivalent to a freshman college level course designed to challenge and prepare students for the AP exam that will be administered during their junior year at Lenape Valley. Along with this preparation, students will strengthen their analytical, writing and collaborative skills while learning and developing an enduring understanding of the ideologies, technology, events and people that influenced and shaped the modern United States. Students interested in understanding the world and their place in it must strive to have a clear and deep understanding of the historical forces that shaped our nation and helped to create our American identity. Students are required to incorporate significant time and effort to read the assigned textbook material in addition to supplemental primary and secondary source readings.
