Let me introduce myself ...

Growing up in Kewaunee County has brought me back to the rural Luxemburg community where my husband and I raised our three children.  We love spending time with our family and adult children whenever possible.  Being a volunteer in many of our children's activities, I have been a dance mom, volleyball mom, and soccer mom.  Our family also enjoys the outdoors including fishing & hunting.

I grew up in and graduated from Kewaunee, attended UW-Whitewater, and began teaching in 1989.  My teaching career began at Premontre High School in Green Bay.  It then took me to Southern Door High School for eleven years, and I was happily hired at Luxemburg-Casco High School in 2001.

My job as a teacher is to prepare my students for their future, no matter what that might involve.  My academic expectations as well as real-world expectations are set to help my students in the long run.  Education has changed from my days as a student and my days of a young teacher.  Today's students need to be ready for a society that is constantly evolving.  Because of this change, our focus is not to teach the content of the class, but rather to teach the skills students will need for their future.  As Mr. Schlender shared with the staff, we need to "prepare kids for their future, not our past." Please view this video that gives a good explanation of how my role as a teacher has changed.  As a practical person and one who loves school and learning, I hope to demonstrate strategies to my students so that they can be successful in their futures.

Please use my website & Facebook page.  I give my students a weekly calendar that lists everything we are doing (even possible quizzes!).  If a student forgets the calendar at school, the website is a great place to find the needed information.  I have also created a Facebook page for my classes.  Please check out the link to the left.

My door is always open for any of your concerns, so please do not hesitate contacting me.

I look forward to working with this year's students and thank the parents for their support!
