My Mission:
My mission is to empower my students to believe in themselves and help teach them the social and problem solving strategies they will need to be successful later in life. I will accomplish this by treating each student with compassion, dignity, and respect. I will push them to be the best they can be by holding them accountable to high expectations in both academics and behavior. I will reflect on my performance often and use new techniques and strategies to better myself. CLICK TO OPEN OUR CLASS EXPECTATIONS & CONSEQUENCES.
About me:
Hi, my name is Mr. Pociask; however, most of my students call me Mr. Poe. I am thrilled to be the art teacher at Luxemburg-Casco Intermediate. This will be my 19th year at L-C and my 25th year as an art teacher. I am looking forward to starting another school year with the kids and working with the families at L-C Intermediate School.
In art I have many passions. Creating things and working on "projects" is an essential part of who I am. I paint, draw, sculpt, and make pottery; however, my list of interests is always expanding. I am married to my high school sweetheart and have two boys. Our boys are 19 and 16. We also have a dog named Go Go. I enjoy spending time with my family and can often be found in my basement or garage creating things.
In my classroom I am organized and have clear expectations posted for my students. I expect their best in regards to effort and behavior. I treat my students with respect and treat them as individuals. We do all types of art projects in my class ranging from simple drawings to complex sculptures. As I work with your children I guide my actions and allocate my time to where it will do the most good by keeping my mission in mind at all times. Please feel free to contact me with questions and concerns.
