Resources for Parents & Educators

Information below has been recommended by parents and educators.

Acronyms/Terms:

Every wonder what all those acronyms and IEP terms mean? Here's a link to a good source that offers some explanations. It's not Massachusetts specific, though, so some terms are not necessarily what you may hear in MA. http://www.specialeducationguide.com/special-education-dictionary/

Seven Hills Family Support Centers:

"Our three Family Support Centers in Massachusetts provide information and referral services to a vast array of resources and activities geared toward helping people with disabilities and their families lead full lives in their communities." Look at the Center's calendar to see a variety of different activities and events open to students with disabilities and their families. Some activities include bowling, home arts, Lego stack pack, Just Us Girls, and Just Us Boys - to name a few! http://www.sevenhills.org/whats-happening/calendar/seven-hills

Hi,

I’m Christy from wondermoms.org. I was on your page trying to find and collect resources that might help families with special needs during this very trying time of COVID.

Thanks for putting this page together. I know how much time goes into it and how annoying it can sometimes be to get messages from random folks. But we appreciate it.

From the isolation, altered routines, parent job loss, and difficulties with virtual OT, I’m sure you’ll agree our communities have enough to worry about. And now with news that a pediatric vaccine may not be available until late 2021 early 2022, we need to support each other as much as possible. I found these additional resources that might lighten their load. I hope you’ll consider adding them.
