Graduation Requirements

LUNENBURG HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

In order to graduate and receive a diploma from Lunenburg High School, all students must, 1) earn a minimum of 24 credits and meet the distribution requirement as outlined in the table below, 2) meet all attendance requirements as outlined in the LHS Handbook, and 3) earn a proficient score on the grade 9/10 MCAS exam in ELA, Math, and Science. All LHS students are strongly encouraged to complete and update their individual 4-year Graduation Progress Worksheet (attached below) on a yearly basis and to keep track of their progress towards meeting all graduation requirements.  Failure to meet ALL requirements will result in student not participating in the graduation rehearsal and ceremony. 

                          

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

LHS - 24 Total Credits

CONTENT CLASSES - 19 credits

English - 4 credits

Math - 3 credits (Must enroll in a math class all 4 years)

Science - 3 credits (including 2 with lab work)

Social Studies - 3 credits, including World History, US History I & II

World Language - 2 credits (consecutive language)

Unified Art (visual arts, performing arts, and/or STEP ) - 2 credits

Physical Education - 1.5 credits

Health - .5 credit

Civics Project

ELECTIVE CLASSES - 5 credits 

5 credits from the above content classes, STEP, and/or VHS

** Please note: courses taken in grade 8 are not included on the high school transcript and do not count towards the LHS graduation requirements.
