Side Projects

With unfinished projects piling up all around me, I have, of course, started work on a tabletop RPG system. Because I don't have enough to do, or I just like overloading myself, or whatever. And I, with my one campaign of playing, ever, am so very qualified for this undertaking. It should be finished in a few days, with a full campaign in about a week or so.

I aim to create an open world, where you can go anywhere and do anything, and talk to anyone. I currently have the world map all drawn out, and a few cities plotted, and about five campaigns outlined. I'm going for a realistic approach: you choose skills for your character, supposedly to fit in with whatever your character was before the start of the campaign. At the moment I am considering doing away with classes altogether, and dealing only in skills (which would include spells). Weapons will need to be smithed, and will be of a certain, randomized quality, depending largely on the skill of the blacksmith. Skills will later only be learned by plausible means, such as books or NPCs. Again, it should be finished in about a week or two, so if you're around the Santa Cruz area and would like to give it a try, let me know!
