ENGLISH
MS. VAUGHN / LAWRENCE HIGH SCHOOL

About me. I joined the Lawrence family as an English teacher in 2008, bringing with me experience from the private sector, including work as an analyst in the investment banking industry as well as consulting and writing experience in corporate communications and marketing. My true passion, however, centers on working with students to foster their creativity and critical thinking. I whole-heartedly believe that it is through literature that we make profound discoveries about ourselves and about our world.

About my courses. The courses I teach are part of the Lawrence High School English Course of Study, which is a comprehensive literacy program that not only teaches the new Common Core standards, but also helps students become stronger readers, writers, and thinkers so that they are better prepared for college, careers, and beyond. During the 2014-2015 school year, I will be teaching English II Honors, American Literature & Composition, Global Literature & Composition, and ASI.
