4-1-13:  From Mr. Rush:  Lawrence High School robotics students are able the test their ROBOTC programs in a simulated environment using Virtual Worlds simulation software or in a physical environment using the testing area located in Room 314.

On February 22, 2013 Keith O’Hara, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Bard College (Annandale-on-Hudson, NY) came to Lawrence High School to address the robotics classes. Professor O’Hara made a presentation which discussed his work at Bard College, developments in computer programing and opportunities in the field of robotics. Students were able to ask questions after the presentation.

On March 12, 2013 members of the Lawrence High School Robotics Team competed in the Science Olympiad New Jersey State Finals Tournament at Middlesex County College. Students designed, constructed and programed a robotic arm capable of lifting and moving various objects in a designed environment. After early problems students were able to score points and place 15th out of 26 teams.

LHS Robotics Team meets after school every Tuesday in preparation for upcoming robotics competitions.
