Emily Gilchrist

Emily grew up in northern Michigan. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Elementary Education, she moved overseas to teach at international schools and explore the world. She spent one year teaching second grade in Bangkok, Thailand and then eight years in Seoul, Korea teaching second grade at Korea International School. While overseas she earned a Master’s degree in International Education. In 2014, she decided to go back to school for a Master’s of Library and Information Science in order to become a librarian. In 2016, her family moved from Korea to Kansas City so that her daughter could grow up closer to family. Emily loves to read and learn new things. She is excited to be the library media specialist for Hawthron Hill Elementary and Longview Farm Elementary.
