Summit Lakes Middle School features "Google Cardboard"

On November 9, 2016, the Lee's Summit Journal published a spotlight story featuring our SLMS LMC and the journey's students experienced using Google Cardboard. With the virtual reality, students are able to visit distant lands from the classroom!!

LIBRARY HIGHLIGHTS

Christie Brown, Summit Lakes Middle School librarian, was awarded the 2015 Librarian of the Year through Greater Kansas City Association of School Librarians.

Trailridge PTA was awarded the 2015 Advocate of the Library Award through Greater Kansas City Association of School Librarians.

Megan Chambers and Amy Taylor, Lee's Summit West High School librarians, were awarded the Bright Idea Award through Missouri Association of School Librarians.

Christie Brown, Summit Lakes Middle School librarian, was awarded the 2013 Lee's Summit Reading Council's Literacy Award.

Christie Brown, Summit Lakes Middle School librarian, was awarded with the 2013 Progressive School Library Media Program Award through Missouri Association of School Librarians.

Christie Brown, Summit Lakes Middle School librarian, was named R-7 Learning for Life award recipient for January 2013.

Richardson Elementary Library was awarded 2011 Outstanding Library Media Center award from Greater Kansas City Association of School Librarians.
