Bios of the Instructional Technology Team
Kevin Whaley, Director of Instructional Technology, began his career in 2001 as a high school social studies teacher and coach. After five years in the classroom, he served as a Technology Coordinator for four years and then he was a middle school Assistant Principal for one year. Kevin joined LSR7 as the Director of Instructional Technology in the fall of 2012. Kevin holds an Ed.S in Educational Administration and is currently pursuing his Ed.D in Educational Leadership through the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Jon Courtney, Instructional Technology Specialist, taught social studies at Bernard Campbell Middle School for 7 years. He has been with the LSR7 School District since 2009 and is a 2014 Excellence in Teaching award recipient. Jon earned a BA in History and a MA in Education from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. He is working toward being a Google Certified Trainer. Jon has been an Instructional Technology Specialist in the LSR7 School District since 2016.
Julie Jensen, Instructional Technology Specialist, taught in the classroom for 12 years. Six years were at a middle school and six years in elementary school. She is a certified eMINTS teacher and a Smart Certified Trainer. She earned her BS from NWMSU, MS from UCM, and doctorate in Educational Leadership from Baker University. Julie has been an Instructional Technology Specialist in the LSR7 School District since 2004.
Jeff Nevinski, Instructional Technology Specialist, taught High School Mathematics for 11 years most recently at Lee's Summit West High School. He earned his BS in both Mathematics and Computer Science as well as his MA in Education from Rockhurst University in Kansas City. Continuing his educational pursuits, Jeff is a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership through Baker University. Jeff is currently a Google and Apple Certified teacher. Jeff has been an Instructional Technology Specialist in the LSR7 School District since 2016.
Jill Rice, Instructional Technology Specialist, taught in the elementary classroom for 15 years and is a certified eMINTS teacher, Smart Certified Trainer, Google Educator, and Schoology Ambassador. She earned her BS and MS from NWMSU. Jill has been an Instructional Technology Specialist in the LSR7 School District since 2004.
