At our 2017 Leader in Me Leadership Rally, the students were celebrated for meeting their original AR Goal of 27,000 points with 85% accuracy.  Mrs. Etie kissed a pig to honor their achievement. Then they set another goal of 35,000 points which they again exceeded by reaching 43,941.2 points!  We celebrated with a WIG Out Day for their "Widely Important Goals" being met.

For the 2017-2018 school year, all students will set a personal W.I.G.! As a school, we will set our W.I.G. for 50,000 A.R. points with 85% accuracy. Students will soon vote on how we will celebrate achievement of this goal in May!

Positive Behavior Interventions and

Supports (PBIS)

What is PBIS and School-Wide PBIS?”

Improving student academic and behavior outcomes is about ensuring all students have access to the most effective and accurately implemented instructional and behavioral practices and interventions possible. School-Wide PBIS provides an operational framework for achieving these outcomes. More importantly, SWPBS is NOT a curriculum, intervention, or practice, but IS a decision making framework that guides selection, integration, and implementation of the best evidence-based academic and behavioral practices for improving important academic and behavior outcomes for all students. At Milton Elementary Middle School we use a positive reinforcement currency system. Our "ME Money" system rewards students who exhibit positive behavior. Students receive "ME Money" and have the opportunity to purchase food, beverages, extra recesses and other items each quarter.
