GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Handbook and Acceptable Use Policy Form
 - Students, please make sure you have turned in your handbook/internet/technology consent forms (Extra insert in the student handbooks) to your English Teachers or the Librarians. Click Here For An Extra Copy.

REGISTER TO VOTE - Register to vote Wednesday.  All US Citizens 17 and over can register to vote this Wed at both lunches in the lobby. Bring ID.

PRIDE ROTATIONS ARE 2nd PERIOD THIS WEEK! (Oct 15 - 19)

SHOW YOUR SPIRIT AND WEAR NEON COLORS FRIDAY!!!

LION PAWS - Bring your lion paws to the last home football game to get colored powder to use at half-time.  Bring several paws to share with a friend.

UL Science Day - Attention Juniors and Seniors! UL Science Day is filling up faster than anticipated.  Please get your permission slips signed and turned in to Mr. Richert Rm 105 ASAP.  He's available before or after school and at both lunches.

TALENTED VISUAL ARTS< THEATRE, OR MUSIC - Interested in the screening process, you must turn in your parent permission form, portfolio, and/or CDs to the counseling office by Thurs, Oct 25.  Late submissions will not be accepted.

Pumpkin Contest - The 3rd Annual LHS Library Great Pumpkin Contest is back!  This year, the librarians have spiced up the  pumpkin contest by providing miniature pumpkins for each entry.  You can decorate your pumpkin to fit into one of 3 categories:  Spooky, LHS Related, and Book Related.  Bring your $5 entry fee to one o fthe librarians to get entered today.  May the pumpkin be ever in your favor!

AFTER SCHOOL TESTING - Reminder that after school testing is Wed & Thurs in the cafeteria directly after school.  Please bring an ID to take your makeup test for a participating teacher!

WRITERS - Calling all writers. You are invited to participate in a writing contest sponsored by the National Writing Project of Acadiana and the Festival of Words.  Students can enter their original writing pieces into threewriting categories including poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction.  Deadline for submissions is Friday, Oct 12.  All entrants are invited to attend the Festival of Words in Grand Coteau on Nov 3.  See Mr. Cole Rm 508 for more information.

JUNIORS - Class t-shirts have arrived.  If you paid your $25 class fee before Sept 9, you t-shirt was included in your fee and you don't have to pay anything else.  Come by Rm 232 from Wed-Fri this week at either lunch to pick up you shirt.  You do not need your receipt to pick up your shirt, but you must present a school ID.

SENIORS - If you missed Senior Portrait Day there will be a make-up day on Oct 2 in the library from 8:30 - 10:00 am. See Mr. Bihm in Rm 206

SHIRT SALE (FOOTBALL) - If you are interested in purchasing a football T-shirt, orders and money will be taken this Wednesday and Thursday during lunch by the front doors.  Cotton shirts are $15, Dry Fit are $20 and Hats are $20.

YEARBOOKS - Do you like saving money? Order a yearbook before October 1 and get $10 off!  Go to yearbook order center.com and use school code 16167 or go to Rm 206 for more info.

Cafe des Lions - Still selling Community Coffee and Tea in our LHS Library.  Now, along with hot coffee and hot cocoa, you can also buy iced coffee and iced tea.  Hot coffee, hot cocoa, and iced tea are $2 and iced coffee is $3.  Coffee and tea are available for purchase all day long.  Support the library.  Roar don't snore!!!

SPORTS:

Boys Basketball Tryouts - for incoming freshmen and transfer students - Wed, Oct 24 and Thur, Oct 25 - 4:30pm - 5:30pm in the boys gym. ***students must have physicals prior to tryouts. (physical forms are across hall from the main office in the racks.

Girls Soccer - any ladies interested in playing soccer.. your paper work is due Frid, Oct 19 to Ms Mire in Rm 404.

Mens Soccer - There will be a player interest meeting after school this Wed in the library.  We will discuss tryouts and the paperwork you will need in order to tryout for soccer this season.  Come join us Wed for more information.

CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS

4H & SHOOTING SPORTS - Students planning to join are reminded to pick up an enrollment card and return it with $10 dues to Mrs. Savoie in Rm 306.

COMPUTER CLUB - Next meeting will be Wed, Nov 15 from 2:45 - 3:30 - Rm 247

GSA CLUB - Next Meeting will be Wed, Oct 31 after school in Rm 247.

 - With weather getting colder, we can NOT have :  Sweats, Blankets, or Pillows on campus and NO Hats in Buildings ! ! ! Items will be confiscated.
  

Student ID's - Be sure to wear you ID's at all times - SAFETY

Class Fees / Dues - Remember to pay your Fr/So/Jr/Sr Class fees and also your individual course fees.

NO SOLID BAGS - All Book Bags MUST BE MESH / CLEAR
