V.I.P. (Very Important Person of the Week)
Very Important Person of the Week (V.I.P.) is an activity that each student is our class will participate in. The goal of the V.I.P. is to help build a stronger community of learners, form positive relationships with peers and teachers and to help develop public speaking skills. Students have been assigned a specific week of the school calendar, August-April, to be the V.I.P. This list will be posted on my Website in addition to a reminder each month which students will be presenting during that month. The Monday before your student is to be V.I.P. I will send home a questionnaire to complete, instructions to complete one task from the task menu, and the V.I.P. bag to place five items in that represents them. (This gives your student a week to complete the tasks and prepare for their V.I.P. presentation.) The special items can be trophies, medals, a special souvenir, book, and/or pictures. On Monday of their V.I.P. Week the students will bring in their questionnaire, completed task, and items to present to the class and display on the V.I.P. Board for the week. The student will spend the week being line leader and have the opportunity to have lunch with Mrs. Maybee and a friend in the classroom. The V.I.P. expectations will be modeled by me the first week of school and I will place a picture on my website as well for your reference. Thank you in advance for helping your child collect and complete the questionnaire and task for this presentation as well as collect the items to share.
