How To Apply (old Fall)
Seniors who have already been inducted into NHS last year DO NOT need to reapply nor pay a fee.
The 2022 - 23 Timeline
Step One: Invitation Emails
Juniors with a G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher, along with seniors with a G.P.A. of 3.25 or higher, will receive an email at their school email address inviting them to apply to our chapter of National Honor Society. This email invitation will have important information on meetings, due dates, and instructions on how to apply. Invitation emails will be sent out Friday Sept 16th, 2022.
Step Two: Information Sessions
Students who receive emails should attend one of the meetings scheduled. The specific dates, times, and locations of these sessions will be listed in the email but they typically occur in September. This years dates are:
Monday, September 19 – 7:45 a.m. OR 3:40 pm (Tiered Class E1287)
Wednesday, September 21 – 7:45 a.m. (E1287)
Thursday, September 22 – 3:40 p.m. (E1287)
Step Three: Application Submissions
Students must fill out and submit the application NO LATER THAN Thursday September 29, 2022.
Recommendations and fees are due NO LATER THAN Friday September 30, 2022 at 3:30pm.
Step Four: Application Reviews
Students will receive acceptance or rejection letters via student email, after their applications are reviewed by a panel of experienced teachers and the NHS sponsors. Acceptance letters will detail further instructions to help students prepare for the induction ceremony. Students who are not accepted will have their application fees refunded to them. The acceptance and rejection letters will be sent out by the end of October. Date: TBD
Step Five: The Induction Ceremony **
Accepted students, along with their parents and honored guests, will attend a formal induction ceremony in Arapahoe's theater on Monday, December 5th 7:00 pm. There also be a rehearsal in the theater right after school this day.
Step Six: Make the World a Better Place
Accepted National Honor Society members must complete 10 service hours a semester. Five of these hours may come from another club or service organization, the other five must be NHS approved service projects. Click here for the service log. Meetings are highly encouraged

The Application
Application due date: Thursday Sept 29, 2022.
Submit your application online.
Turn in your NHS application fee of $30 (check made payable to Arapahoe High School or exact cash) to the front office by Friday Sept 30th 3:30 pm.
Recommendation forms are digital. The student is responsible for personally asking each recommender to fill out the online recommendation and following up to be sure it has been done. All recommendations should be completed by Friday Sept 30th.

Induction Ceremony
You will receive an email/letter informing you of your acceptance into NHS at the end of October.
The induction ceremony will take place on Monday, December 5th at 7:00 pm
Click to RSVP for the Induction Ceremony, once you have received a letter congratulating you on being selected for membership. Deadline: Friday, November 11th
**Inductees must attend the rehearsal right after school on December 5th.
The ceremony is a formal occasion; please dress accordingly.
Service Log (for NHS members)
Senior Members must complete 10 hours of service per semester.
Only five hours from another service organization may count toward the ten hours
The other five hours must be a NHS promoted service
Junior Members must complete 10 hours in the spring only.
Submit your logs to mariahs075@lspk12.org by Friday December 9th.
Transparency of Fees:
Our increase in fees this year is due to the following:
1. Our membership pins have increased in price.
2. Our membership fee with Nationals has increased in price.
3. Our materials for certificates and printing have increased in price.
4. Everyone in NHS will get a t-shirt to wear for all NHS events.
