About Mrs. Jenkins-

When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my son and my husband. We frequent the mountains, and enjoy camping and hiking. I love the sport of baseball and enjoy watching the Rockies play, even when they aren't in the World Series. We are natives of Colorado and are orange and blue, through and through-Go Broncos! I also enjoy reading. I have been teaching at Newton Middle School for 24 years of my teaching career. I have a BA in Speech Communications and English from Metro State University (of Denver). I have my MA in Educational/Instructional Technology from Walden University. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher in Early Adolescence English/Language Arts. This year I am also an Electives teacher!

Professional Mission Statement

It is my goal as an educator to enrich my students’ lives with academic experiences that help them grow as individuals whom positively contribute to their world. My role is to facilitate learning in a way in which students feel ownership in their academic growth and express their natural curiosity in the framework of our classroom. Through various teaching styles, I strive to connect individually with students and provide an environment in which all opinions are respected and recognized. I work to create a holistic learning experience by connecting other content topics and my life experiences into our units of study to introduce students to the global world in which we live. It is my goal to share compassion and my enthusiasm for learning with my students. I want them to leave my classroom being positive risk-takers, insightful inquirers and cognizant of whom they are as an individual, a learner and responsible for the world in which they live and grow.

NMS Mission: We help ALL students grow and succeed by making important discoveries about academics, their community (inside and outside of Newton Middle School) and themselves.

LPS Mission: The Littleton Public School District shall strive to educate all students for the future by challenging every individual to continuously learn, achieve, and act with purpose and compassion in a safe and secure environment.

NMS Vision: The students, staff and parents of Newton Middle School seek to develop open-minded, lifelong learners who have the knowledge, skills and personal character to contribute to their communities.

LPS Vision: Littleton Public Schools: Extraordinary learning, exceptional community, expanded opportunity and success for all students.
