Welcome to my second grade website! I am so lucky to call Mark Twain my home for the last 23years. Teaching kids to read and write and love learning is my biggest joy.

For current and upcoming information, parents are sent regular e-mails.

About Me

Twain is my home away from home. I started at Twain in 1998 as a KED teacher and teaching first and second grade reading groups. From there I moved to third grade for eight years and then back to Kindergarten for another five. I taught first grade for two years and felt lucky to be able to move to second grade where I have been for years. I feel blessed to be a primary teacher.

I received my degree from Metro State college of Denver in 1996 in Human Development with a minor in Reading and a license in Early Childhood Education. I recently completed my Master's of Education in Literacy at the University of Texas Arlington online. My favorite things to teach are reading and math.

I have three awesome kids. One grown, married and living in AZ, one working for GM as a design engineer and one now in high school. And now we have sweet Theodore and Sebastion, our grandsons in our lives.

When I am not studying or teaching, I love being outdoors, playing softball, talking walks and being with my family doing something active. My favorite part of the day with my family is asking about their highs and lows at the dinner table.
