I am excited about the 2016-17 school year. I have been teaching school for 22 years. I have experience in K, 1st, 2nd, and Early Intervention (K-5) with a specialty in Reading. I attended Valdosta State University for my Undergraduate and Masters program. I continued my specialist degree in Reading Education at Nova Southeastern University. This is my sixth year as a Lindamood Bell/Early Intervention Teacher.  I love spending time with my family, hiking, fishing, and being outdoors.  I am very blessed to be a part of such a wonderful family here at Hahira Elementary School. Please feel free to contact me with any questions at 229-316-8600 or through email: janethowell@lowndes.k12.ga.us

Early Intervention
Children start school at a designated age, but often differ greatly in their intellectual development and experience. The Early Intervention Program (EIP) is designed to serve students in K-5th grade who are at risk of not reaching or maintaining grade level performance. The EIP program strives to provide additional resources to help students obtain necessary skills to reach grade level performance in the shortest time possible.

Lindamood Bell
Lindamood Bell (LMB) is a research based program of instruction that can close the gap between potential and reading performance. It is based on individual learning needs and embodies an interactive approach to help students develop literacy skills. LMB involves instruction in reading, spelling, comprehension, phonics, and  phoneme sequencing for reading and spelling.
