All About Me

Hello Fabulous Fourth Graders!

I would like to start out by saying how exited I am to be your teacher this year! I cannot wait to meet each and every one of you, and I know that we will have a great school year! I want to introduce myself to you, as I have not had the chance to meet all of you yet. My name is Zane Eppes and I have been teaching at Westside Elementary for the past eight years.

I attended Lowndes county schools throughout my middle and high school years. However, I transferred to the city school system my junior year and graduated a Wildcat. I am absolutely not a Wildcat. Go Vikings!! After graduation, I attended Valdosta State University where I graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 1996. I earned my Master's Degree in Education from Troy State University and my Specialist Degree in Curriculum Instruction Management Administration from NOVA University in 2004. I was blessed to spend my first three years of teaching in Alpharetta, GA. My family moved back to Valdosta in 2000 where I accepted a kindergarten position at Parker Mathis Elementary School. I taught kindergarten and 3rd grade at PME until the school moved to WES. I taught 3rd grade for 5 years before moving to 4th grade. I look forward to a fabulous year in fourth grade with you!

I have an amazing family, a wonderful church home, and the cutest dog ever, Lucy- a Yorkie, who is precious. My interests include exercising, reading, painting, and spending time with my family- Kevin and Kevin (we call him Bo) and Jane-Heather. I hope this gives you a glimpse of who I am, and I look forward to getting to know each of you soon.

Fourth grade is a very special and important year. You are beginning a new journey which requires more responsibility and higher expectations in the classroom. I am thrilled to get to guide you and support you along the way during this exciting time in your life. I have many fun and interesting activities planned for the school year, so get your thinking caps on and be ready to learn when you walk in the door on Monday, August 7th! As the summer comes to an end, please remember to keep reading, reading, reading, and practicing those math facts! Enjoy the rest of your summer! I can't wait to meet you at the Open House on Thursday, August 3rd from 2-4 pm. This will be an opportunity to become familiar with our classroom, find your desk, put your school supplies away, and catch up with your friends. I am looking forward to a happy and successful school year!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Eppes
