Welcome to 5th Grade

Meet Mrs. McGeehan

My name is Kelly B. McGeehan. I have been teaching for 21 years. I have had the privilege to teach in a variety of school settings and assignments.  I have taught in Illinois and Georgia, in rural and urban settings.  I have taught second, third, fourth, and fifth grades, as well as, gifted (1st-5th) and EIP (K-5th).  I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, and my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Albany State University.

I was born and raised in Alton, IL, a small town on the banks of the Mississippi River.  I moved to Albany, GA in 1997 and to Lake Park, GA in 2007, where I currently reside.

My husband, Robert and I were married in 1997, and have two sons, Mason and Cade.  Mason is 20 years old and attends Georgia Southern University where he's studying Biology. Cade is 17 years old and is a senior at Lowndes High School. Cade is a Georgia Bridgemen and he is active in the Lowndes High School Chess Club.

Some of the activities I enjoy doing are spending time with my family and friends, scalloping, fishing, boating, camping, traveling, watching my boys in their endeavors, and reading.

For Your Information

Want to know what's going on in our class?

I use Remind to send reminders, homework assignments, and classroom pictures.

If your child is in my (McGeehan's) homeroom, text @mrsmcgeeh to 81010 or get push notifications at the following link: rmd.at/mrsmcgeeh.

If your child is in Ms. Cook's or Mr. Hallman's homeroom, text @7kahk8 to 81010 or get push notifications at the following link: rmd.at/7kahk8.

NOTE - I have 2 different Remind accounts. Make sure you sign up for the right one. The reason for this is because if your child is in my homeroom, I'll also be announcing class parties, Fall Festival needs, classroom needs, etc.
