"Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun."

Welcome to our Art Room!

Art is central in a child's education as a form of exploration and expression. Ideas and
experiences are shared through art.
In a respectful, creative environment, students learn art concepts, art history, and experiment with a variety of techniques and media. My curriculum integrates art with other content areas, teaches multi-cultural art, helps students make personal connections, and aligns with the Massachusetts Arts Curriculum Frameworks.

The Elements of Art

The Elements of Art -line, shape, color, form, texture, space and value- are the basis of making art and an important focus of my lessons.

At the beginning of the school year, students view non-objective art by artists such as Kandinsky, Mondrian, Stella, and Delaunay. These reproductions help children learn the Elements of Art and serve as inspiration for imaginative creations!
