Students, Parents, and Guests:

I am looking forward to this year with optimism, enthusiasm, and a clear focus. I want you to study and begin to master the reading, writing, and language skills you will need to pursue English IV, a college degree, or a career after high school. I attended Texas State University in San Marcos where I earned a Bachelor's in Fine Arts, Mass Communication and Public Relations. I am currently pursuing a Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.

I am a life-long resident of Lockhart who grew up in a teaching family. My mom or my aunt probably taught your parents! I have been married for 7 years and have two daughters, Evalyn and Jordynn. We are also parents to our giant dog, Jetta Knight, a St. Bernard mix, who weighs more than 150 pounds! I am a Harry Potter fanatic, a Whovian, and love reading new and exciting literature, so please share with me what you are reading!

This year, a new opportunity is available for the students of Lockhart High School. I will be teaching two courses as part of a University of Texas at Austin initiative that allows me to teach high schoolers the same class that freshman at UT will take this year. By successfully completing the year-long, dual enrollment course, each student will earn 6 college credits that will guarantee to transfer to any public university in Texas! The program is completely free and at no risk to the student, however, it is intense, and the course curriculum is paced exactly as the course on the UT campus is. Be ready to work, but it will be worth it. See me if you have any questions.
