Welcome back to school!
The Language Arts team is excited for the opportunity to teach the wonderful students of Lockhart.
As you may have heard, there are numerous changes with the new STAAR test. In the 7th grade, there's the additional challenge of a writing test.  This test is especially important as this task is required in order for a student to graduate high school in the state of Texas. As 7th graders, your child will learn numerous skills to help them excel in their educational career and beyond. It is our job to increase the rigor and time dedicated to reading and writing in order to best assure the educational gains that these children deserve.  In addition to an increased academic load, many students will also choose to take part in extracurricular activities.  While we support this choice whole-heartedly, it will be vital to your child's success to learn time management and prioritization. We ask that you always feel free to contact us for any situation.

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to work with your child.
