Performing Arts News 2016/17
A late entry this year, but another superb school Eisteddfod. The all day event involved Year 7 and 8 watching (and participating in) a plethora of musical performances. Well done to all students and staff involved in the day. We particularly enjoyed the house performances of Sosban Fach. See the departmental twitter page for some pictures...@LMSPerfArts

Last night Music and Drama students performed to a crowd of around 300 people in our Open Evening, which invites prospective students to view our school. The performances were of an excellence quality, and provided a lovely setting in the welcoming of our prospective year 5 and 6 students and their families. Well done to all involved.

Year 12 Drama Students also engaged the youngsters with a witty and dramatic re telling of the CSI Laptop Case. Well done to those involved.

Congratulations to this years award winners for commitment and attainment in Music.

Cluster Choir perform together at Llantwit Major School!
As part of the Transition Day concert, the Cluster Choir sang an energetic and enthusiastic version of 'Don't Stop Believing' conducted by Mrs Davis and accompanied by Jessica Summers and Connor Treadgold on electric guitar,Emily Squance on bass guitar, Kiera Manley on drum kit and Miss Brown on piano.
The year 6 pupils had worked extremely hard in their primary schools to learn the song from memory before the concert and we were very impressed by the quality of the singing and by the high standard of behaviour they displayed during the rehearsal and concert itself. We would also like to thank the year 6 teachers for their work in making sure the year 6 pupils knew the song so well.

Eisteddfod 2015
Here are some photographs of the musical performances at the annual school Eisteddfod. This year the department had 14 competitions ranging from Junior Welsh Vocal Group through to Senior Instrumental Solo. This whole school event shows how much musical talent we have in every year group and it is a pleasure to hear pupils confidently perform a wide range of repertoire.
