My name is Lisa Castaneda and I am currently a physical education teacher at Livingston Middle School.
I graduated from Merced Junior College with an AA in Liberal Studies.  I continued to further my education at Stanislaus State University where I earned my BA in Physical Education followed by a teaching credential.  For the past 11 years I have been teaching at Livingston Middle School and loving every minute of it!

Hobbies -  Paintball, wakeboarding, dancing, working out, scrapbooking, gardening, hiking, camping, boating, photography, garage sale-ing, going to fairs and festivals and traveling

Family - I have been married to my amazing husband Eric for 3 years and we are madly in love with our 1 1/2 year old daughter, Leilani.

Philosophy - Physical Education is not just an organized recess or an ¨easy 'A'¨ class.  Physical Education and fitness is crucial to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, not only now, but for the rest of my students' lives.  I firmly believe all of my students are special and posses a wide variety of talent and skills.  It is my mission to expose my students to a wide variety of activities, and to encourage them, to discover and enhance these skills.  Not only that but to teach students the value of physical activity, health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression and/or social interaction.  As a professional educator, I will present these activities in a positive and professional manner, as to maximize the self-esteem and the self-confidence of my students.
Throughout the school year, I will treat my students with the upmost respect and courtesy.  While I hold high expectations for my students, I expect them do THEIR own personal best.
