  1. Nurse’s Report: School Nurse Kara Kramer will present her report on Health Services for the Board this evening

  1. Fire Panel Replacement and Cube Van Purchase: The Buildings, Grounds & Energy committee is recommending replacement of the fire panel, and purchase of a new cube van. Due to proprietary software and mechanics for the fire panel, it is recommended for replacement at a cost of $24,327.00 from the regular budget. Our aging “cube van” has been recently serviced and repaired and is suitable for driving back and forth to schools. At a cost of approximately $32,000.00 the District can purchase a new van which is  larger in size  and can also used by our clubs and athletic teams for longer trips.

  1. Open Enrollment:  Director of Pupil Services Laura McCormick will update the Board on our Open Enrollment figures for the 2017-18 school year. Her report and recommendations, for approval this evening, are included for your review.

  2. Community Based Transition Program: At the Board of Education meeting on February 27, 2017, the Board gave approval for the District to explore a possible plan for development of a Community-Based Transition Program for students ages 18-21 who have completed their academic requirements/credits for graduation but need to continue to work on their transition goals. Tonight, Pupil Services Director Laura McCormick will provide an update about the study of the District’s plan to meet the transition needs of students with disabilities who will be soon eligible.

  1. New Position: Elementary Special Education Teacher: On February 27, 2017, the LCASD Board of Education approved a limited term hiring of an additional special education teacher for the remainder of the 2016-17 school year due to the increased number of special education students with diverse needs.  Projections, based on enrollments in our Early Childhood and 4K classrooms, along with possible referral information from Outagamie County Birth to 3 Program, suggest that this trend will continue. The addition of this position has resulted in positive outcomes for our students, both academically and behaviorally. We are asking for approval to make this a permanent position, allowing us to continue to meet the diverse needs of our students.

  2. Student Food Service Fees for the 2017-18 School Year:   Please see the summary here regarding an explanation of paid meal lunch prices for next year which will need to be increased in order to be in compliance with the USDA. We will be seeking approval this evening.
