Our Pastor

Rodney Martin has been the Senior Pastor at Lititz Mennonite Church since September of 2009.  Rodney began serving the congregation in 2000 as the Associate Pastor during which time he helped to organize a youth ministry called The Catacombs that created opportunities for neighborhood youth to hang out in the church.  He also developed the youth ministry Reality Check which was a small group that emerged from The Catacombs for community and conversation on spiritual issues. Since becoming the Senior Pastor Rodney has led the congregation to become better focused on the local neighborhood and worked toward implementing Peter's Porch to better serve the community.

Rodney and his wife Angie, were married in August 1999 and have a daughter Caitlin and son Ethan.  Angie has been actively involved in the life of Lititz Mennonite through helping with worship, ministering to moms and seniors and being an overall support for the ministry of the church.  He and Angie enjoy reading fiction, movies, gardening and spending time with their children.  Caitlin & Ethan also enjoy reading, art, music and hiking.

Rodney's calling to ministry was shaped by growing up in a church plant in New Haven, CT which was started by his grandparents and was deeply impacted by this cross-cultural environment.  In 1995 he participated in a YES Team (Youth Evangelism Service with Eastern Mennonite Missions) to mainland China where he taught conversational English.  Following this assignment he led a YES Team to Taiwan where he worked with the Mennonite Church.  After YES he attended Eastern Mennonite Seminary and earned a Masters in Religion with a focus on missions.  Rodney is currently working on his Masters in Divinity at Eastern Mennonite Seminary.
