March Class Descriptions

Basic Computer Skills (2 hours)  
Gain an understanding of the basic parts of a computer---hardware, software, mouse skills, and basic computer terminology.  

Introduction to the Internet/ Email Basics (2 hours)    
Introduction to the Web---setting up an email account, email skill and etiquette, sending & receiving attachments, search engines, & online safety.

Introduction to Microsoft Word-Part 1 (3 hours)  
Introduction to word processing, basic tools of Word 2013-menus, toolbars, working with files & text. 

Introduction to Microsoft Word-Part 2 (3 hours)  
Continuation of Microsoft Word Introduction class.  Review of basic skills and progression to additional advanced skills

Microsoft Word Part-3 (3 hours) 
Not for beginners but for those who wish to continue learning more skills with Word.

Introduction to Microsoft Excel-Part 1 (3 hours)  
Introduction to spreadsheet basics, basic tools of Excel 2013--- menus, toolbars, worksheet modification, formatting cells, formulas & functions.

Introduction to Excel-Part-2 (3 hours)  
Continuation of Microsoft Excel Introduction class.  Review of basic skills and progression to additional advanced skills.

Microsoft Excel-Part-3 (3 hours)
This class is not for beginners but for those who know beginning Excel and are looking to learn even more skills working with this program.

Microsoft Excel-Part-4 (3 hours)                                                                                                
Not for beginners but for those who wish to continue learning more skills with Excel

Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint (3 hours)   
Introduction to basic tools of PowerPoint 2013---working with slides, adding content, working with text, color schemes, graphics, slide effects & tips and techniques.

Open Lab (2 hours)
Have questions about, or problems with your computer/tablet/phone? Get answers.

MTSU Going Back to College for Adults (3 hours) 
Join reps from MTSU to learn how to return to college and finish your degree as an adult.

Intro to 3D Printing (3 hours)
This class covers the basics of 3D design for printing with our 3D printers.  Includes best practices, procedures, policies, and overview of software.  Requirement
 for using Linebaugh’s 3D printer

Introduction to Microsoft Publisher (3 hours)
Introduction to desktop publishing, basic tools of Publisher 2013, Learn how to use the program to create newsletters, flyers, brochures & other popular items.

Employer Services & Career Coaching (1 and half hours)
Class offered by the Nashville Career Advancement Center (NCAC).

Introduction to Microsoft Access (3 hours)
Introduction to database basics, basic tools of Access 2013-menus, toolbars, tables, queries forms, reports & functions.
