Naasz just completed his 2nd year at Beloit, before that he guided the Lincoln Leopards junior and senior high programs for nine years after serving as an assistant for a year at both Fredonia High School and Lincoln High School. His wrestlers have had success at both the regional and state level, and his first ever wrestler achieved the honor of state champion during the 2014 State Tournament. He has coached a state champion now in three of the past four seasons.

Each of his last four squads at LJSHS received KWCA Team Academic awards while numerous wrestlers earned spots on the KWCA Senior All-Academic Team. Three of his former wrestlers completed the NWCA Student Leadership program.

For the past 6 years, Naasz has been active on the KWCA board serving as the Academic Chair, he now serves as the Vice President and will move into the role of President this coming October. This past Spring he took on an additional role as the NWHOF-Kansas Representative.  The past three years he has been the NWCA-Kansas Representative and attends the national scholastic meetings each year at the NCAA DI Wrestling Championships and at the NWCA Annual Clinic in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.  He is a 2014 & 2015 graduate of the NWCA Scholastic Leadership Academy. More recently Naasz was a graduate of the 2016 FCA/NWCA Collegiate Leadership Academy and earned his FCA 3Dimensional Coaching+ Certification.  This past September, the National Wrestling Coaches Assocation hired Coach Naasz as their Social Media Director. 

In 2012, Naasz was recognized by the Kansas Wrestling Officials Association as the 321A Coach of the Year. 

Coach Naasz makes his home in Lincoln, KS with his wife Jill who is a First Grade Teacher at Lincoln Elementary School and their son Von. (Future leopard wrestler)

Tommy Knapp

Experience: 3 years

Kansas State University

Lincoln High School 2008

Knapp finished his career as a four-time state placer, 4th, 3rd, 4th, 4th, as well as a three time state semifinalist.  He also served as a Team Captain, and was selected to the KWCA Senior Academic 1st Team.

 Graduating in 2008, Knapp continued his education at Kansas State University.  He was active there on the KSU Rugby team.  He has since returned to Lincoln where in his free time he volunteers as a Boy Scout leader.

Knapp attended the KWCA “Fritz Knorr” Clinic and Awards/Hall of Fame Banquet in Salina, KS.  Clinicians during the even included Chris Perry, 2x National Champion and current assistant coach at Oklahoma State, Kevin Andres the first head coach in the history of Ottawa University. 

Knapp was also in attendance for a special presentation by NWCA Hall of Fame coach Dave Crowell of Nazareth Area High School (Nazareth, PA) on 3Dimensional Coaching.  This presentation focused on capturing the hearts of athletes and building relationships.
