Outdoor Club

Thursdays at 3:15 in the gym
The club is open to all students.  3rd - 5th graders may attend without a parent while K - 2nd graders need a parent present at the meetings.
Take look at the posts to the right to see some of the activities we have done so far!

Meetings are every Thursday from 3:00 to 4:15.  Parents will pick up students in the room across from the computer lab (Ms. Parker’s room)  Homeroom teachers will be notified of students who will be attending.

Interested?  All you need is to turn in permission slip at your first meeting.  Family meeting and field trips may be held at least 2-3 times a semester.
Students will learn about native plants and animals adapted to Fort Worth’s ecosystem.  We will focus on improving the courtyard, as well as beautification of our entire grounds.
Click here to open the permission form you can print and fill out for your child.  Return the form to Evalyn in the school office.

WE NEED TOOLS of the trade:  If you have any gardening equipment that is gathering dust in your garage, we can use it!  We also need seeds, especially any native or wildflower seeds.  You can bring items to the school and put in our donation box.

If you have any expertise to share with the club or other items you think we could use, please contact:

  • Fort Worth's Cowtown Cleanup
The Outdoor Club is sponsoring the annual Cowtown Cleanup for Lily B on April 14th, from 9am-12pm. All Lily B families are invited to meet at the school and clean up our campus and neighborhood parks. We hope to have enough volunteers so we can work on the flower beds by the Kindergarten classes as well. Please take note of all of the work completed on our last work day; thanks to all of the families who volunteered their time then! The Outdoor Club is looking forward to having some new faces join them on the 14th!

Following the Outdoor Club annual Cowtown Cleanup effort, there is a city wide party at Trinity Park. There will be food, entertainment and lots of new information! Please see the school website for link/directions to sign up. If you have any questions, contact Jo Ann Collins at joacollins@gmail.com.

  • Dump the Dirt! & Work Day
    "Dump their Dirt!"
Friday, March 2nd at dismissal time

Join Lily B’s Outdoor Club as they prepare our first raised bed for planting! On March 2nd at dismissal time Lily B families and friends are invited to “Dump their Dirt!” We will accept any old bags of compost and/or soil of any kind to add to our first raised bed. Meet us on the east side of the school between the basketball court and the building to drop off your dirt.

    Lily B. Work Day
    Saturday, March 3rd at 9:00am

THEN join us on Saturday, March 3rd for a workday at the school. We will be building our compost, filling our raised bed, sprucing up beds around the school and dreaming of what we want to add to our new outdoor plan! Families are invited to attend. Please bring loppers, shears, shovels, gloves, and a great attitude. Let’s get it growing!
