T'ai Chi & Chi Kung Winter Retreat

...in Fuerteventura!

Next Retreat Date:  To Be Advised

Location:  Hotel Bahia Grande, Las Playitas, Fuerteventura, Spain

Its official folks! Winter is finally upon us and it’s time for the annual Lifestyles Healing & Martial Arts T’ai Chi  and Chi Kung Winter Retreat.

The resort is towards the Southern end of the island, not too far away from the famous Jandia, large, swathing, white sand beaches.

Ask any of those who went on the first Retreat, it really was loads of fun as well as being a wonderful learning opportunity.  So, instead of rushing out to buy a SAD lamp to boost your serotonin levels, why not join us?

What’s on Offer
We will enjoy a mix of…

  • Daily pre-breakfast meditations and Chi Kung sessions
  • T’ai Chi tasters for those “Chi Kungers” out there that have never tried it
  • T’ai Chi sessions for all
  • Guided relaxations (as if we’ll really need it, ya ha!)
  • One to one counselling should anyone want a confidential chat about any particular issues they are currently facing and feel they might benefit from an objective third party’s ear
  • Private T’ai Chi or Chi Kung lessons
  • Individual Tuina (Chinese massage therapy)
  • Story-telling
  • Moonlight Chi Kung and T’ai Chi by the water
  • Day-trips

…in a week’s break away from it all. Let’s re-charge our batteries and absorb the Yin and Yang Qi of the Canaries.

If you guys want to be flexible, that’s fine. You might want to miss some sessions to go on a day trip to see the history of the island or sneaking out for retail therapy. In fact, you can come along just for a holiday and do absolutely nothing bar lay on the beach. We won’t tell!

Who can come?
Current or past students of the Lifestyles Healing & Martial Arts club and anyone with a vague interest in either Chi Kung or T’ai Chi and wants to know what all the fuss is all about! Partners and friends are welcome. Deck chair lubbers also welcome!

When do we go?
Be there or be square! Go for it, treat yourself! Take the bull by the horns, grasp the nettle and seize the day!

Testimonials from Previous Retreats

“…the schedule worked out well, giving you a structure for the day but with time to do other stuff e.g. reading, resting, watching the waves.  We liked the venue, which had plenty of facilities, and the restaurant at Las Playitas was great.”

 “Good supermarkets at Gran Terajal”

“People – hotel staff all lovely, as were the people we met in Gran Terajal.  I particularly liked the way the waiter laughed when he brought you your meal in that last restaurant….”

“Training was very good. The schedule worked out well for us…”

“To summarise: worthwhile…I would definitely repeat. My own practice has improved no end and I felt I had achieved more in the week than I have in several months.  My strength, co-ordination, balance and understanding also improved over the week.”

“We both enjoyed ourselves, learnt something, ate well, had good fun and kept excellent company!”
