This celebration of the end of World War One will be a collaboration between Lichfield Cathedral Chamber Choir and the Worcester Cathedral Chamber Choir, with Martyn Rawles conducting, and will also feature the well-known Darwin Ensemble Chamber Orchestra and professional soloists. Two major works will be included: Haydn’s ‘Missa in Tempore Belli’, written soon after the French Revolution at a time when Haydn’s native country Austria was threatened with invasion from Germany, and Gerald Finzi’s evocative ‘Requiem da Camera’, a setting  of poems written during the First World War reflecting on the inevitable changes to English home life brought about by war.

Tickets for this unique event,  to be staged at the West End of the cathedral, are available from the Cathedral Bookshop, No 9  The Close, or by emailing, and cost £15 (front nave) and £13 (rear nave and side aisles).
