Summer Reading for Adults, Teens and Children begins: June 21st
Join us for a kickoff day celebration.   Are you as excited about summer as we are?  If so, join us to help celebrate and have some fun: sign-up for our summer reading program, get your face painted (between 12:30 – 2:30), get a balloon animal! (between 12:30 – 2:30), try some fun science experiments, take your photo with Princess Merida form the movie Brave,  make a spin-art creation on the Spin-Art Machine, turn into a Mad Scientist in the Mad Scientist Photo Booth,  enjoy a refreshing ice pop!  Check out the exciting programs we have to offer throughout the summer!  This is a drop-in program for families with children of all ages!  Also, register online (find link on our website) beginning June 21 and record the books you read this summer to be eligible for fun prizes! 

Adult/Family Events Coming in July:

The Dog Listener on July 15th.  Learn how to bring your dog to peace and solve the problem of unwanted behaviors. Pat Wright has worked as the highest ranking member in the United States of the Jan Fennell International Team of Dog Listeners. Some of the many topics discussed are pulling on the lead, jumping up, aggression, separation anxiety, and excessive barking. Pat mixes in some very entertaining experiences from her many years of Dog Listening throughout New England. Questions are welcome but no dogs please.  Contact the library to reserve a seat, as space is limited.

Cut the Cable on July 16 @ 6:30 p.m.
Is your cable bill too high? Are you tired of being shocked by bill increases and random charges? Then this program is for you! Learn how to cut your cable bill by 40% and still watch the shows you love! We’ll talk about streaming services like Netflix and Hulu and streaming devices like Amazon Fire TV and Roku. Come to the library to learn if these newer and alternative entertainment options are right for you, and how to get started with using them. Multicultural Arts & Crafts For Seniors & Tweens/Teens- Tuesdays: July 15th  22nd  and 29th  from 1:30-3 pm
Led by art teacher and Berlin resident, JoAnn DeWind, pairs of students/seniors will learn about the art and cultures of Japan, Latin America and Africa by creating Japanese calligraphy, molas and masks.  This program is sponsored by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain.  This program will be held at the Berlin Senior Center.  Call the library at 860-828-7126 to register.  

New Britain Symphony on July 30th
New Britain Symphony Orchestra's String Quartet will be performing a variety of Beatles hits. Rain or shine.  No registration.
