**All students participating in the Math/Science Relays today need to eat 1st lunch!**


Room assignments for 5th, 6th, and 7th hour today:
Ms. Hinds' class will go to Ms. Schuster's room
Mr. Conway's class will go to Mr. Lee's room
Mrs. Conway's, Mrs. Stephens', and Mrs. Stoops' classes will go to the cafeteria
Mrs. Price's class will go to room 15 (Old Health Room)



Colorguard tryouts are tomorrow after school until 5pm in the band room.  The first day of tryouts we will teach you the basics, and then you will still have time to decide if this is something you want to do or not. 



There will not be Anime club next week.



If you are interested in trying out for the Varsity Football Cheerleading Squad please pick up a packet in the office and return it to Coach Mocca or the office along with a copy of your physical by May 1st. Tryouts will be May 6th, 7th, and 8th in the middle school cafeteria from 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.

Any girl that would like to borrow a dress for prom, see Kim in the counseling office.  There are several dresses available in various sizes.



Scholastic book orders are due April 10. You may pick up order booklets at the library desk.


Juniors and Seniors planning on attending prom need to make sure their dues are paid. If you are bringing an outside date, there are forms that need to be filled out in the office. Anyone who brings a date that is not an LHS junior or senior, needs to pay $20 for their entrance fee. Money needs to be given to Ms. Hinds.



 All Participants in the Interscholastic Contest need to meet in the Library during Eagle Time on Tuesday, April 7th.



The Busy Hands Workshop 5K Color Run/Walk will be May 2nd at 2:00pm. Registration forms are in the HS Office. Registration includes t-shirt, color bag, and sunglasses for $25. Forms need to be turned in by April 17th to receive Color Run items.



Evening alternative will be on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 - 6:00 for the remainder of the school year.  Students may make up credits or hours during this time.  If you have any questions, see Mr. Orchard.

Educational Opportunities: 
The Missouri State Highway patrol invites students to learn about careers in law enforcement by attending the Troop G Student Alliance Program.  The program will take place on two consecutive Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. beginning on April 4 and 11 2015.  Applications are available to juniors and seniors.  Please see the counselor ASAP if you are interested.   There are still 5 spots to be filled.
 


Seniors~  New scholarship applications are available! 
 

Seniors~ 
**West Plains Bank and Trust Company is offering a new scholarship available to seniors. This is a $1,000 scholarship available to a 2015 graduating senior of West Plains High School or Liberty High School interested in college-level study in the field of banking.   
Applications are available at www.westplainsbank.com or can be picked up outside the counselor's office.  Applications and supporting documents must be received or postmarked by no later than April 20, 2015

The Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship is available to senior girls who are planning a career in education.  Applications are available outside the counselor's office and are due by April 1, 2015. 

The Mid-East Missouri Contractors Association scholarship application is available to students planning on majoring in a construction related field such as engineering.  Applications are available in the counselor's office and are due by April 1, 2015
 

Seniors ~ There are seasonal hiring opportunities at Ozark National Scenic Riverways for this summer. Duty stations for these jobs will be at Big Spring, Alley Spring, Round Spring and Shawnee Shop Roads/Trails. 

There is a flyer that provides details that relate to the duties of a Maintenance Worker/Trails WG-05.  It also includes requirements of the position, work periods, salary and directions for applying. Flyers are located outside the counselor's office. 

The announcements will be opening in the near future, so interested seniors are encouraged to go to the website provided and set up their USAJOBS account and profile.

 

Seniors~  Continue checking the scholarship page for updates on scholarships that are offered.  Links to online applications are also available.  Deadlines are quickly approaching!!! 
Please stop by the counseling office if you need help applying for colleges.  Also, transcript request forms are available outside the counseling office and must be filled out to complete the admission process for college.
