Tips for reading
--Read in the kitchen--that is read recipes, food preparation instructions, and cereal boxes. Reading in the kitchen in practical everyday reading that everyone has to do to survive. 
--Read blogs, magazines and websites that are about topics that you enjoy.  When you enjoy what you are reading you will look forward to reading and do it more often.
--PARENTS read with your student.  You can read a page, and he can read a page.  This gives you an opportunity to do something together, and it allows you to work on reading comprehension by talking about what you are reading as you read.
