Passport to the World

We will be working on a collaborative, integrated project in the computer lab for the next several weeks. This project integrates technology skills with social studies content.

Objectives for this project include:

Creativity and Innovation

Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct

knowledge, and develop innovative products and

processes using technology.

Communication and Collaboration

Students use digital media and environments to

communicate and work collaboratively, including

at a distance, to support individual learning and

contribute to the learning of others.

Research and Information Fluency

Students apply digital tools to gather, evaluate,

and use information.

Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making

Students use critical thinking skills to plan and

conduct research, manage projects, solve problems,

and make informed decisions using appropriate

digital tools and resources.

You will be traveling the world and researching your cultural topic in different places on 6 continents - North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia.  You will each have a “passport to adventure” and collect photos, facts, mementos, souvenirs, and memories in a passport scrapbook.  This is a virtual trip around the world so use your creative imagination as if you were actually in each place to give a first person report of all the place you visit.  Your team is the “cultural anthropologist” who specializes in your particular topic. To become an expert in this topic, you must do plenty of research and be ready to share what you have learned in your final product.
