Welcome to Liberty Charter High School, where our number one priority is literacy. As defined by Webster, literacy is the process of being educated and cultured. Liberty interprets that to mean fluency and skilled ability with the written and spoken word as well as technology, math, science, media, history, the arts and contemporary culture. In math class that means we will be focusing on learning mathematical skills and gaining understanding, along with the ability to use appropriate technology to problem solve. There may be some challenges and struggles, but I know that you can succeed. With that, one of our new focuses this year is having a growth mindset, believing that anyone can learn anything. There is scientific evidence that the brain grows and becomes stronger through struggling with learning and correcting your mistakes. That means in the mathematics classroom you will be asked to work hard on problems that seem difficult. We believe you can do it and will grow in the process.
