Here at Liberty High School, there are three main areas of focus: literacy, leadership, and technology. Everything we do directly correlates with one of more of those ideas as we strive to develop fluency in all three.

The vision of mathematics at Liberty High School is to develop student leaders who are literate in their subject content, better able to excel in the ever changing 21st century. Our goal here at Liberty, is to engage learners in mathematics, enabling success, growth, and content knowledge. Students will become better equipped due to the raising expectations and blossom into positive community builders.

As the math department grows in Common Core Standards, we are integrating the 8 Mathematical Practices into our curriculum and daily structure. These practices drive students' success in mathematics.

1. Make sense of problem solving and persevere in solving them.
2. Reason abstractly and quantitatively.
3. Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others.
4. Model with mathematics.
5. Use appropriate tools strategically.
6. Attend to precision.
7. Look for and make use of structure.
8. Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.
