Dual-Credit Course Application Process

Step 1: Apply to Heartland Community College by January 20, 2017!!!
Students will need to complete an application by TBD to be eligible to take Duel-Credit courses during the 2017-2018 school year.
They will need to apply for Fall 2017 and choose the College Now Duel-Credit option. If you are currently enrolled in a
Dual-Credit course, you DO NOT need to complete a new HCC application.

Step 2: Taking the ACCUPLACER Test (Basic Skills Assessment)
If you do not meet ACT/SAT score cut-offs (see information about that here), you have to register for and complete the ACCUPLACER Literacy assessment. If you    complete your application by the February 17, 2017 deadline, you should receive an email with assessment instructions from Heartland staff shortly after.  Each student will need to sign up individually to take the ACCUPLACER test at one of Heartland's campuses during the months of January and February for initial testing (re-take options will be available). Students DO NOT need to take the Math test, only the ACCUPLACER Literacy test.

Step 3: Enroll in the course when we completed schedules for next year and pay course fees
Students will be responsible for purchasing text books. Information regarding textbooks should be available in the Spring.
**PLEASE NOTE: If these courses become full, students will be placed in the courses based on GPA/class rank, attendance, and behavior/discipline. Students who do not get placed in the class initially will be placed on a wait list. There will be a cost for all courses, except Geology.
