SOUTHWEST BOOK DRIVE 2016 - In keeping with the spirit of this month's Read Across America, we would like to continue to spread the love of reading by kicking off our sixth annual Southwest Elementary Book Drive.  Our goal is to collect 500 new or gently used books and put a book in the hand of each child at our school by June 1, 2016.  This year our books will be given to students in 1st-5th grade to read over the summer, then keep at home and enjoy.  If you have books that your children or grandchildren may have outgrown, they could be the perfect fit for one of our readers!  A collection box will be placed in the office at Southwest Elementary. If you have any questions, please contact Joy Harman (242-1548 or email jharman@lexcs.org). Thank you so much for bringing books into the homes of all our children and encouraging a lifelong love of reading!

Please feel free to pass this information along to your friends, family, church groups or any community organizations who may want to participate.

We appreciate your continued support!
