May Reading Tip

EOG Strategies & Tips:

1. Don’t stay up late. You don’t need to feel sleepy during testing. Getting a goodnight’s sleep has been proven to help you stay alert and perform better on tests.
2. Eat breakfast at home or at school. Your brain needs fuel for the day!
3. Think positively. You can do this!

Reading EOG 
1. Read the title & predict what you think the passage will be about.
2. Read the questions for that selection. This way you know what you are looking for when you read.
3. Read the selection, underlining important parts.
4. Be sure to read all information including graphs, maps, charts, illustrations & captions.
5. You must go back and prove your answers in the passage.
6. Use all your reading strategies! Underlining, QAR, RUNNERS, eliminate wrong answers (slash & trash).

Math EOG

1. Read each problem carefully.
2. Draw a picture, chart or diagram to help you solve the problem.
3. Use all your materials to help you solve the problem, calculators, blank paper, test booklet.
4. Check your work for any mistakes.
5. When you finish each problem, go back & reread to make sure that you have answered it correctly.
