Parents & Students,

Welcome to the spring 2017 semester!

I am so excited to be here at Airport High School! It is my third year here (but 11th in education), and I can't wait to continue another great year!  I have taught in many environments, enjoy teaching all types of students, and absolutely love all things ELA, especially figurative language, word study, and grammar.  Among my most favorite experiences as a teacher include a 1 year stint teaching ESOL in the Czech Republic, my current pursuit of a PhD at USC, and participation in the 2016-2017 Teachers for Global Classrooms cohort.

This semester I'll be teaching Journalism and English II Honors.  Everything you'll need for those courses will be posted to this website here, and I use a lot of other tech-ish tools (e.g. Remind, Padlet, Kahoot!) to make it easy to know what's going on in class and fun to learn.  I try to make my classes as rigorous and engaging as possible without being overwhelming, and I look forward to seeing each child grow.

In addition to teaching, I love cooking, reading, swimming, beach camping & surf fishing, leisurely bike-riding, jigsaw or crossword puzzling, playing Scrabble, going anywhere new (particularly places w/ connection to literature [see right]), spending time with friends and family, and cuddling with my adorable cat Mona.

The best way to contact me is via email (crasmussen@lex2.org).
