Ron Kelley is music director at Leland
and Gray where he teaches middle school band and chorus, middle school general music, and high school chorus.
In addition, he leads the Leland and Gray Samba Band, the A Cappella Group and
JV Jazz. He was the musical director for the L&G Players productions of Grease,
Babes in Arms, The Wizard of Oz (two times!), Oliver, Anything Goes, Little Shop of
Horrors, Footloose, The Drowsy Chaperone, Guys and Dolls, How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying and The Mystery of Edwin Drood.
He is a saxophonist and composer as well, having composed music for the Players
productions of "Galileo", "Frankenstein" and “Fahrenheit
451.” As a young adult he toured the world with the Bread and Puppet Theater
and led a New Orleans style jazz band in New York City. He has
been on the faculty of the Governor’s Institute on the Arts since 1994. He has a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the Hartt College of Music.
