Welcome to English and French
with Ms. Sarah Birgé



In 2013, Ms. Birgé joined Leland and Gray as an English teacher and literacy coach. She began teaching French in the 2015-2016 school year. Originally from Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, she has worked in schools around the world. Additionally, she is a board member and former director of the Nanubhai Education Foundation (www.nanubhai.org), a registered 501(c)(3) which provides college scholarships to young women in rural India. 



Ms. Birgé completed her undergraduate work in English Literature at the University of Chicago and has a Master's Degree in Sustainable Development from SIT in Brattleboro. She currently lives in Windham with her amazing dog, Walter. 



Ms. Birgé's hobbies include reading, cooking, hiking, and winning at Scrabble. She loves to travel and has visited more than twenty countries.
