posted Sep 8, 2014, 7:52 PM by Kendrick Wong   [ updated Sep 15, 2014, 5:01 PM ]
The LCRA is proud to host an All Candidates Meeting for Legacy residents to come out and hear the 2014 Markham candidates discuss the issues in person in a lively forum.

When: Monday, September 29, 2014
Where: Legacy Public School, 61 Russell Jarvis Drive
Time: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

The format will be similar to years past. Candidates will be presented to the audience in groups, beginning with candidates for Mayor, followed by candidates for Regional Councillor and finally, Ward 7 Councillor candidates. Each candidate will be allowed a short time for an introductory speech. Questions for the candidates will follow, beginning with questions directly from the LCRA, and followed by questions submitted by audience members.

Questions may be submitted in advance, via e-mail to communication@legacynet.ca, or dropped in the mailbox outside 32 Red Ash Dr. Please include your name, address, question, and whom you would like to direct your question to (either a selection of candidates or an individual candidate).

Meeting format and decorum will be strictly controlled. Speaking times will be managed by a timekeeper who will also have the ability to turn off the speakers microphone, if need be. We also ask in advance that audience members respect the discussion process by silencing cell phones and refraining from cell phone use or casual conversation during the meeting.

Please see www.markham.ca for the latest list of registered candidates.

The LCRA thanks all the participants, in advance, in yet another community event sponsored by the LCRA – ‘By the Community for the Community’. Participants are reminded and encouraged to join as members of the LCRA. If you would like to become a member of the LCRA, please go to Membership on our website at www.LegacyNet.ca on how to join. For the small fee of $20 per household and a few minutes to fill out a membership form, you can make a difference to your community.
