What's Happening at Legacy

  • Thank You Phillips Family
Recently there was a generous donation given to Legacy Academy in Loving memory of the Phillips Family Band.

The Family Band included John Robert Phillips(1912-2005), Olga Phillips(1913-1992), John" Bob" Phillips (1937-2014) and Mike"Milo"Phillips (1934-2013).The Phillips family loved to play and collect all types of Instruments including the saxophone, banjo, violin and piano. Since the 1930's the family enjoyed sharing their love for music with all of Colorado's music enthusiasts. Their favorite times were when they were helping to instruct local children to play music in Northern Colorado. Let their music play on in the students at Legacy.

                                                                The Old Fiddle

"Be patient" I seemed to hear the old fiddle say, I'm a long way from dead and I'm itching to
play.Smooth out my belly and patch up my back; Carve me a new bridge and line up my neck.

Now set me a sound post so perfectly placed(Else all the work you've done be a waste)

and finally some new strings Tuned G.......... D.......... A.......... E.......... Them old red label, They're a good brand for me!

John loved to repair violins and fiddles.

  • PTCO Update
PTCO Letter of Intent-Elections will be held on April 20th.
My name is Jennifer Lieberman. My Husband and I recently moved to Parker after living in Elizabeth for 8 years.  We have 3 children; one in First Grade, another in Kindergarten, and our youngest will start Kindergarten in 2016. I am a Stay-at-Home Mom and currently a Room Parent and a regular in-class volunteer. Prior to staying home, I was a Manager at a movie theater and was responsible for everything from Customer Service to Inventory and Payroll.
Our family time is usually spent at home, playing games, reading, and crafting. I would like to be elected as Secretary of the PTCO board to be more involved in the school, and to have a direct impact on helping the Teachers, Parents, and Community. Together we can sustain the best education and atmosphere for our children. Thank you for your consideration.

    Thank you,

    Jen Lieberman

  • Dear Parents,
The middle school students have been given the opportunity to try a relaxed dress code for the rest of the month of April. For the next 3 weeks, beginning onApril 13th, all students in grades 6-8 will be allowed to wear appropriate jeans with their uniform shirts. All students are also allowed to wear the usual Legacy Academy uniform if they choose. The students have been told that this is a trial period to give the school staff and board of directors a chance to evaluate possible dress code revisions for the 2015/16 school year. The exact details of the revised policy will depend upon the outcome of the trial run during the next 3 weeks.

    Summary - From April 13th until April 30th, 2015
    • Middle school students may wear:
      • Jeans
        • must be in good condition - NO rips or holes
        • must fit appropriately - NO low riding, sagging, or oversized pants; NO skinny jeans (boys)
      • Shirts - MUST be shirts that are currently part of Legacy Academy's uniform policy
      • Sweatshirts - MUST be Legacy Academy logo sweatshirts
      • All students - may still wear their usual school uniforms if they choose
    • Students must present a neat and clean appearance every day.
    • Belts must be worn.
    • Shirts must be tucked.
    • Clothing with images, graphics, or messages that are inappropriate for school will not be allowed.
    • If students or parents are unsure about a specific item of clothing they should ask before assuming that the item will be appropriate.

Teaching Reaction Times with Minecraft

Minecraft Club has come to Legacy Academy.  We are happy to join the many great schools around the world that are using this powerful creative tool to teach a wide variety of topics.  We hope that we will be able to create a fun after school club where students have time to explore and create new worlds, work together, discover science concepts and learn powerful computer skills.  It is a really great time!
