  • Field Day

    Field Day/Early Dismissal 8:00am - 12:00noon.

Please drop your 1st through 4th grader off at Casey Jones Park

Please drop your 5th through 7th grader off at Wild Pointe Fields

Everyone will be picked up at Casey Jones!

Field Day will be held Wednesday, May 20th from 8am to noon. Students need to bring a labeled water bottle and a labeled snack. Students should wear appropriate clothing that is in accordance with the handbook for “Dress of Choice Day” and should also dress according to the weather (jacket, sunscreen, hat, etc.). Girls are not allowed to wear spaghetti strap tops or short shorts. Kindergarten will have already graduated and will not be in attendance. Grades 1st through 4th will be participating with Mrs. Chamberlain at Casey Jones park and grades 5th through 7th will be at Wild Pointe fields (north of Legacy) with Mr. Chadrick (8th grade will have already graduated). Students in 1st through 4th grade will need to be dropped off at Casey Jones Park and students 5th through 7th will need to be dropped off at Wild Pointe Fields. Please do not bring them to Legacy Academy. All students will be picked up at Casey Jones Park. As in the past, we rely on the wonderful support from our parent/guardian volunteers to make Field Day a success. Grades 1st -4th will be supervised by their classroom teacher. This year we will have many stations with different individual, team and classroom competitions. Please note, we are looking for anyone that likes to do face painting. We need your help to run these stations for both elementary and middle school. If you would like to volunteer, please contact your child’s classroom teacher, Mrs. Chamberlain(maggie.chamberlain@legacyk8.org) or Mr. Chadrick (micah.chadrick@legacyk8.org). Remember, we want the day to be stress-free and organized, so signing up to volunteer beforehand will help us accomplish this.

Teaching Reaction Times with Minecraft

Minecraft Club has come to Legacy Academy.  We are happy to join the many great schools around the world that are using this powerful creative tool to teach a wide variety of topics.  We hope that we will be able to create a fun after school club where students have time to explore and create new worlds, work together, discover science concepts and learn powerful computer skills.  It is a really great time!
