First Sergeant KEVIN L. DAVIS
First Sergeant Kevin L. Davis is a native of Chester, South Carolina, where he enlisted in the Marine Corps in June 1996. Upon completion of basic training at MCRD Parris Island, he attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger and subsequently reported to Supply School at Camp Johnson, North Carolina. Upon graduation from Basic Warehouseman School in November 1996, Lance Corporal Davis was transferred to Fourth Marine Regiment, Third Marine Division, Okinawa, Japan, where he served as a 3051/Warehouse Clerk.
Upon completing his tour with 4th Marine Regiment in December 1997, he received orders to Marine Aircraft Group 26, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing, New River, North Carolina. He served in the billet of Warehouse Clerk. It was during this period that he was promoted to the rank of Corporal.
In March 1999, he received orders to 2d LAAD Battalion, Cherry Point, North Carolina, where he held the billet of Warehouse Chief.
During January 2000, Corporal Davis was transferred to Marine Aircraft Group 31, MCAS Beaufort, South Carolina. He served in the billet of Assistant Warehouse Chief. During this period he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
Receiving orders in September 2003, Sergeant Davis was transferred to 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he served as Warehouse Chief. During this assignment, he deployed to Port Au Prince, Haiti in support of Operation Secure Tomorrow.
In August 2005 Sergeant Davis received permanent change of assignment orders and went to 5th Battalion, 10th Marines where he served as Warehouse Chief. During this period he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In December 2006, he was transferred to MARSOC as the Warehouse Chief and in January 2008, SSgt Davis received orders to Drill Instructor School at MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon completion of Drill Instructor School class 02-08, he was assigned to the 2nd Recruit Training Battalion Hotel Company. During this time he served as a Drill Instructor and a Senior Drill Instructor.
Upon completion of a successful tour on the drill field, Staff Sergeant Davis received orders back to Marine Aircraft Group 31 in April 2011, this time to serve as the Warehouse Chief, During this tour, he deployed to Azores, Portugal serving as a liaison in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and to Bahrain in support of MAG 40 to serve as the MAG Supply Chief. During this time he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.
In January 2013 Gunnery Sergeant Davis was selected for Assist Marine Officer Instructor Duty (AMOI) and in June 2013 received orders to Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, RI to serve as the Battalion Drill Instructor.
In July 2016 Gunnery Sergeant Davis received orders to Marine Logistics Command, Albany, Georgia, where he served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant and upon his promotion to his current rank he assumed the billet of Company First Sergeant.
First Sergeant Davis’ personal awards include Navy Commendation Medal with one gold star in lieu of second award, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with four gold stars in lieu of fifth award.
